I invite you to share a part of my journey in the Himalayas with me \u2013 a journey that is not only characterized by breathtaking peaks and untouched nature, but above all by the people who live there and the chance to make their lives a little better. Over the past year and a half, we have already achieved a lot together with many of you. But there is still so much more to do. <\/p>\n

How it all began: The Shree Saraswati Primary School
<\/strong>
Our journey began with the Shree Saraswati Primary School<\/strong> in Hill \u2013 a small village in the Solukhumbu district where our partner Aang Gombu, a Sherpa from the region, grew up. Gombu told us about the difficult situation in his homeland: The school was in a poor state and the children lacked many of the things needed for a good education. But that was the moment when we said:
We have to change something here<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The second school: more than just new rooms<\/strong> <\/p>\n

In 2023, we then visited a second school that needed no less urgent support. Here, too, we were able to make a difference by collecting donations and our work as photographers: <\/p>\n

New floors in the classrooms<\/strong>:
The old floors were replaced with stable and safe materials.<\/p>\n

Winter jackets<\/strong>:
We have provided warm winter jackets so that the children are also protected in the cold season.<\/p>\n

Safe playground<\/strong>:
We have also made the playground safer for the children here.<\/p>\n

It was incredible to see how grateful the children and teachers were for these improvements. These schools are a valuable place of hope and education for the whole region and I am proud to be a part of this change. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The third school: Shree Champadevi Basic School<\/p>\n

<\/strong> Now it\u2019s our turn with the Shree Champadevi Basic School \u2013 the third school in our project. Thanks to the generous support from you and the income from my photography assignments, we have already been able to build two new classrooms, which is a huge step forward for the school and the children. <\/p>\n

But our work does not end there. Now we need to further improve the infrastructure and offer the children an environment in which they feel safe and comfortable: <\/p>\n

Securing the schoolyard and playground<\/strong>:
It is important that the children are not only in a safe environment during lessons, but also when playing. This is the next step we want to take. <\/p>\n

Provision of additional learning materials<\/strong>:
School materials are essential for a good education \u2013 and we want to ensure that the children have everything they need to learn successfully.<\/p>\n

Creating sustainable solutions<\/strong>:
We want to ensure that the improvements we make are here to stay for the long term and will benefit future generations of students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Why all this is so important<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education is the key to a better future, but especially in remote regions such as the Himalayas, it is anything but a given that children have access to a good education. Many children have to cope with a lack of resources and poor learning conditions, which significantly limits their chances of a better future. <\/p>\n

That is why we have made it our mission to sustainably improve the conditions in these schools. And this is where you come in: your support has already made a huge difference \u2013 and with your help, we can achieve even more! <\/p>\n
